What it is: A ritual-inspired eau de parfum that opens with scents of sawara cypress, incense, and Japanese cedar. Story of the fragrance: There are several trees in Japanese forests that yield wood that is considered sacred in ancient religious ceremonies. Incense created from these unique woods is one of the ritual offerings that realizes the link to the forest. Strong timbers from hinoki wood have been used for masu, baths, temples, and Noh theaters. The sacred shrine located in Mie Prefecture used hinoki that was sourced from the Kiso forest. The goal of this eau de perfume is to recreate that hallowed aroma.
