The only safe, non-toxic substitute for chemical hair coloring that is harsh on hair and contentious in terms of health is henna. Rainbow Henna is made entirely of natural plant material; it has no metals, metallic salts, chemicals, preservatives, or additives. For more than 9,000 years, henna has been used in various parts of the world.
Lawsonia, a tiny shrub native to the Middle East, West Asia, and North Africa, is the source of red henna. After being dried, the leaves are ground into a fine powder. To create the various hues, we also employ the following plants: Indigofera, Cassia Obovata, Marigold, and Chamomile Flowers. For our hair color, we only use the best botanicals available worldwide.
Every hair strand has its exterior covered in Rainbow Henna. Henna enhances the natural color of your hair while reflecting its tone throughout it. Henna's sealing effect smooths the cuticle and gives hair a glossy appearance by reflecting light and adding luster. Regular henna application can texturize hair and give it more body; this effect grows more pronounced with each application.
The color of rainbow henna lasts for around four to six weeks, but it's safe to use more often.
Both wet and dry hair can be dyed with rainbow henna, but it must be clean and free of conditioners, gels, and sprays. Before shampooing, let your hair air dry with a towel.
Transfer the powdered rainbow henna into a glass or plastic basin. Make sure there is enough powder on the areas you are applying it on.
*Avoid using metal cutlery or bowls*Â
Heat 8 to 16 ounces of liquid (tea, coffee, or water). In order to achieve a creamy yogurt-like consistency, add the liquid gradually and thoroughly stir with a wooden or plastic spoon. If the mixture is excessively thick or thickens while being applied, more liquid can be added. It's not necessary to utilize all of the prepared liquid; just enough is
Mix powder with coffee or tea and 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to help conceal gray or white hair.
*Detailed instructions based on intended outcomes can be found below.
*Adjustable Recipes and Tips to Tailor Results for Grey Hair:Â
Coffee or Black Tea (English Breakfast, Darjeeling, Ceylon): Use coffee or tea instead of water to conceal grey or white hair or to assist tone down red or deep brown-red tones. Use brewed black coffee rather than instant.
You can also utilize alternatives to coffee. Works well with red, brown, and black henna colors.
Red teas (Rooibos, Raspberry Leaf, Red Zinger): These teas help bring out the vibrancy of red tones. Works with any shade of Henna.
Tea with chamomile: To highlight and accentuate golden blonde highlights. Works with Blonde, Strawberry Blonde, and Marigold Blonde Henna Shades.Â
Regarding Dry Hair:
To the Henna mixture, add 1 egg, 2-4 tablespoons olive oil, or 2-4 tablespoons plain yogurt. Choose just one of these choices. In addition to conditioning, these organic components may facilitate the application and rinsing procedures.
Use neutral henna as a conditioner to give your hair more volume and luster. "Clear" or neutral henna does not leave behind color. Apply to hair in the same manner as the color hues after mixing with hot water to the appropriate consistency.
Utilization
Though henna seldom stains the hands or scalp, you can wear plastic or rubber gloves to prevent staining. Since henna is heat activated, we advise using it soon after mixing.Â
*A patch test on your skin is advised before applying the entire treatment if you have sensitive skin or chemical sensitivity. Henna does not usually cause allergies or adverse reactions.
Divide the hair. Dividers ought to be roughly one inch thick.
As soon as the henna mixture reaches a safe temperature (warm to hot), start at the scalp and apply the henna using a brush, applicator bottle, or your hands, working your way up to the ends.
Continue until the henna mixture has thickly covered all of the hair.
Wrap the hairline with a cotton or tissue band (optional).
To keep the henna on the hair, cover it with a shower cap, plastic bag, or plastic wrap.
To retain heat, wrap a towel turban-style around your head.
Timing
Use a Thermo Heat Cap, Heat lamp, or Salon dome dryer for optimal results.
Continue as you would like:Â
Heat the following colors for 45–60 minutes: black, red, sherry, mahogany, burgundy, dark brown, medium brown, and copper. In 30 to 45 minutes with heat, strawberry blonde, blonde, marigold blond, light brown, and neutral; in 45 to 60 minutes without heat.
After time is finished, thoroughly rinse with hot water and then with cold water. Apply Rainbow Henna Conditioner and Shampoo after that. After a thorough rinse, style. Hair needs to dry completely in order to see the full effect.
If the hair is resistant, the timing can be extended.
When dyeing hair with henna, hair products with essential oils should not be used as they include aroma. The henna coating on the hair will be removed by the essential oils, hastening the fading of the color.
